Hi, I’m Vanessa! Let’s Get to Know Each Other.

Hey there! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Vanessa—the photographer, doula, and heart behind Vanessa Tobias Photography. I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, connection, and the beauty of motherhood. What started as a small creative passion has turned into the most rewarding journey of my life—capturing the sacred moments of pregnancy, birth, and family life while also guiding women through the sacred journey of birth as a doula.

How It All Began

My journey into photography started in the most unexpected way—photographing my dogs! I loved capturing their personalities and little moments, and that creative spark led me to start documenting families and motherhood. The deeper I dove into maternity and birth photography, the more I realized how much I love being a part of this season of life with my clients.

But photography wasn’t enough—I wanted to be there, truly supporting mothers beyond the images. That’s what led me to become a doula. Now, I get to serve mothers both through my lens and through hands-on care, which is the most beautiful full-circle experience I could have ever dreamed of.

Why I Do What I Do

Motherhood is sacred. Every season—from the anticipation of pregnancy to the rawness of birth and the tenderness of newborn days—deserves to be remembered. My approach is to capture these moments in an authentic, emotive way so that you can look back and feel the love, the strength, and the connection in every frame.
